It was refreshing to discover Maurizio's pictures and sculptures at the Riflemaker today. His work is original, hugely creative and has an atmosphere on its own. I've never encounter an artist using hair as a medium. It is full of nostalgia and very Baroque at the same time. Ben Lewis's article in the Evening Standard . It is like revisiting the past with humour and willingness to bring back to life those who have left. I was impressed by the huge hair sculptures. They look like creature from a fairy tale, bizarre, and futuristic at the same time. I felt like Padme from Star Wars was around the corner.
