For who can wonder that man should feel a vague belief in tales of disembodied spirits wandering through those places which they once dearly affected, when he himself, scarcely less separated from his old world than they, is for ever lingering upon past emotions and bygone times, and hovering, the ghost of his former self, about the places and people that warmed his heart of old?
Text: From the Master Humphrey’s Clock by Charles Dickens. This particular quote was the starting point for Predrag Pajdic in developing the concept forLingering Whispers, a group exhibition with 30 international artists, which investigates ghosts as gliding memories through one’s consciousness. Produced by Virginie Puertolas-Syn, the exhibition that will blend contemporary art with fashion will open on the 6th of May 2010 at Crypt, St Pancras Church in London and further investigate one’s dreams, desire, illusions and magic. Emiliano Lazzarotto (images above) is one of the artists in the show. More information coming soon.
